Cool Project?

Tell me. Have you done any cool projects? I have. Recently, I collaborated with a poet through “Art in Common Places”. We developed a theme through conversation and I created a drawing and she a poem. The result was printed on a broadside and placed in common places, like laundry mats, car washes, libraries, nursing homes, etc. Pretty neat huh? Let’s hear about what you have done. We love a good story.

i did a "cool project" in the 1980's that was pretty bizarre. i used to go to a punk dance club, by myself, and dance for 3 or 4 hours every saturday night. the dance floor always had crappy (in my opinion) stuff on the walls. so after having danced there for over a year, i asked if i could paint the room. so one night, my partner at the time, dropped me off at 2am (closing time) on a sunday morning, and i had until 2pm sunday to complete the work. it was a HUGE JOB! the place reeked of cigarette smoke and rancid beer. but i finished the job! so for the next two months i got to dance (often all by myself) in a room surrounded by my (not very good) day-glow paintings. quite an experience, and one i have no intention of repeating!
