Artist Statement
A Macon, Georgia native, Mary Beth graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and worked in the oil and power industry. Mary Beth experimented with water colors, stained glass, and clay. Once she settled in Alpharetta, GA, she continued art classes which lead her to acrylic painting.
Mary Beth creates from an internal recklessness that abandons formal structure and accepted aesthetics. Her formal education as an engineer influences her process of exploring line and form. Chaos and order emerge and resolve; the resulting work is art rich in content and expression.
